 *NYARTCC Presents: “D”elta Detour* There is more to ZNY than JFK, PHL, LGA, and EWR. The ARTCC holds plenty of Class D airports, just waiting to see some action. Some big and some small, each one deserves the chance to be flooded with a little activity on VATSIM. One day each month, ZNY will be staffing a Class D airport, and encourages everyone on the network to check them out. VFR or IFR, general aviation or jet, the choice is yours. So come on, take a detour and join us at a spot you likely haven’t visited before. This month, NYARTCC is featuring Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport (KITH). Located in the top most portion of the NYARTCC boundaries, this regional airport services a few regional airlines as well as plenty of VFR traffic. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and explore an area not too far from Canada. We will also staff Elmira (KELM) and Binghamton (KBGM) to cover all your needs in the area. So take a break from the city, and visit northern New York! The event will take place August 29th between 2200z and 0200z +1 (6pm-10pm EDT). There will be plenty of time for a little day and night flying. Be sure to join the fun! |
